Gimme Shelter
Funny thing happens when it rains. Things get wet. And when stuff made
out of wood gets wet, it curls and warps and turns this way and that.
Time to build a shelter for all of the building materials that we've been
collecting.
So, where have we been getting all of these building materials? When
you're in the construction business, especially when you work on big,
expensive residential projects, you come across perfectly good stuff that
is heading to the dump. We've been collecting stuff like that, and we
will clean it up and install it.
Speaking of architectural salvage, can you tell what the walls of the
shelter are made of? They are the old-style garage doors that homeowners
have replaced with automatic garage doors. The doors make perfect walls
for the dry area that we need for the other salvage materials. Bill is
constructing a PVC arc to hold up a canvas top. The shelter is located
just off the back bedroom/carpenter's shop.
It's our first addition to the house!
